Our Principal

Elizabeth Cherek is the Principal at the Eastern Heights Elementary.

Ms. Cherek brings a wealth of experience in helping our youngest students succeed. She has served as a Pre-K, kindergarten and elementary teacher, a staff coach to support early learning programs, and most recently, as a principal at The SPPS Early Childhood Hubs. Ms. Cherek understands the importance of collaborating with staff and families and embracing the unique gifts that each child brings. Throughout her career, she has created schoolwide systems to provide individual support to students and mentored staff to help improve their skills. She values the importance of building relationships and helping all students and families feel represented and accepted for who they are. 

Ms. Cherek has excellent academic qualifications with both a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Master of Education degree in curriculum and instruction with a specialization in reading.
