The Harding Branch is a full service Credit Union located in the cafeteria at Harding Senior High School. Here, students can open accounts, preform transactions, play financial trivia, exchange bills, ask questions, and much more! The credit union is open to all students and staff during all lunches and by appointment. Students can also get ATM/Debit cards linked to their St. Paul Federal accounts for easy cash access outside of school. Our main branch is also right down the road! This is very convenient for account access after school, during summer, and after graduation.
The overall goal of the Harding Branch is to teach students and staff the importance of financial literacy. Some ways we do this are: Information brochures available to students/staff, going into classrooms to teach about financial topics, answering questions, and giving financial advice.
The Harding Branch is run by 3 student interns and a School Branch Supervisor. The branch offers paid internships available to Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors. With this, students go through creating resumes, going through interview processes, and on-site training through the summer at our main office.
The Harding Branch also offers two individual $500 scholarships every year! Both of these scholarships are available to all seniors in general. Submissions for these scholarships are done by writing a short essay about a financial question. Winners are then selected by a committee made up of St. Paul Federal Credit Union employees based on content and ability to answer the question.
