Currently the enrollment of fifth graders in Mrs. Rogness' room 213 is
at twenty-five students. Ms. Stach's room 212, has twenty-five
students as well, with changes expected throughout the school year.
We have a wide variety of learners. Some students have been at Eastern
Heights since kindergarten. Others are new to our school this year. We
work together to develop all the dimensions of learning: social ,
academic, and personal growth.
Basic academic instruction takes
place in the homeroom environment. There are some students who work
with other teachers outside of the room.
Fifth grade classes
will be attending field trips together within the school year. We are
also excited about the rich variety of learning experiences that the
Get Ready Program provides for our students including other field trips
and classroom presentations.
Our field trips this year will
included trips to the Como Planetarium, Ted Mann Concert Hall, Belwin
Nature Center, and a Science Show at the University of Minnesota. The
Get Ready Program will sponsor a field trip to Metropolitan State
University in November. It is an opportunity for students to visit a
college campus and make plans for their future.
