Monday, February 13, 2017 is National African American Parent Involvement Day!
All Are Welcome Here! We are looking forward to all of our families joining us on this day celebrating the important connections between families and school.
National African American Parent Involvement Day (NAAPID) is a day for parents to come to their child's school, see what their day is like and to support their child's educational future. Some of the goals of NAAPID are to:
Flyers have been sent home inviting all families to spend the day with their student. We will be having an All School Morning Meeting dedicated to the day's theme. There will be a "Letters of Love" station where families can leave encouraging notes for their child and refreshments in our Family Resource Room, we will be welcoming a spoken word artist in our Learning Studio, and family members are invited to join us in the classrooms and eat lunch with their student. If you can't join us until later please join your students when you can and be a part of a Closing Circle in your students' class.
