Dear Families and Community of Eastern Heights Elementary,
We are excited to welcome our new leader for Eastern Heights Elementary. Howard Wilson our school’s new principal beginning in the 2015-16 school year.
Dr. Wilson has been an SPPS leader since 1997, most recently serving as principal for Battle Creek Elementary. His passion for education helped the school establish a true sense of community through engaging early childhood and Pre-K programs, increased parent involvement and school events for the whole family. We are excited to experience this same passion as he enriches and strengthens our Eastern Heights community.
With a $100,000 Spotlight grant from Target and Greater Twin Cities United Way, Dr. Wilson will continue the exciting plans to transform classrooms into “Learning Studios.” Learning Studios allow multiple classrooms from the same grade to collaborate and learn together.
Dr. Wilson has excellent academic qualifications. He graduated from St. Olaf College with a Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Theater Arts; a Master’s degree in Religious Studies from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities; and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from University of St. Thomas.
In Peace and Equity,
Your Eastern Heights Staff
